Simson Built is a dedicated residential building business with a passion for high performance homes, led by Nick, a local to the Surf Coast for 30 years.
Serving the Surf Coast and Geelong, we specialise in contemporary, architecturally-led construction that respects the rugged beauty of the Victorian coastline. Our approach is grounded in technical honesty and a commitment to structural excellence, ensuring every project is an enduring testament to quality craftsmanship.
Nick is a second generation builder, having worked under his dad who serviced the Surf Coast for 30+ years.
We aim to take strong old-school carpentry principals gained from this experience and incorporate modern building materials and practices to deliver excellent work, built to last lifetimes.
our journey to here
Nick's construction career started at the age of 18 working as a labourer for his dad. After spending 3 years travelling, surfing and playing music, he started his carpentry apprenticeship at 21. His passion for high-end carpentry quickly grew, building 2 new custom homes in his first 2 years as an apprentice.
Nick then gained extensive experience in renovations, completing many different major projects from Geelong to Lorne. Renovation's offer different challenges, but also different rewards and this experience became invaluable in growing into a complete carpenter.
The focus now is improving the quality of both new homes and renovations through innovative building materials and practices without losing the strong carpentry principles gained along the way.
Building is as much about relationships as anything. Clients, contractors and suppliers all require strong relationships to make a project successful and that's one of the many aspects of building that we pride ourselves on.
